Abstract

From their disintegration experiments with the separated isotopes of lithium, Rumbaugh and Hafstad (1) concluded that the energy difference of the normal states of Li8 and Be8 had a minimurn value 3 to 4 Mev greater than the tnaximum energy of the beta-rays which are produced when Li7 is bombarded by deuterons and which Crane, Delsasso, Fowler and Lauritsen (2) had attributed to Li8.
