Citation Analysis for M. Kreitman Papers

Martin Kreitman's 1983 paper introduced the use of DNA sequence data for the analysis of problems of variabilty and selection in evolutionary genetics. Its citation pattern is typical of well-recieved papers showing an early period of high citation and gradual tapering off of citations.

The papers by Hudson, Kreitman, and Aguande and McDonald And Kreitman introduce statistical tests of DNA data that allow the effects of drift and selection to be differentiated. The citations of these papers show an very high rate of citation. This could be because these papers present methods of analysis for rapidly growing databases of DNA sequences.
