Flemming Besenbacher is Professor
in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Aarhus.
He was also Vice-Director of CAMP, the Center for Atomic-scale Materials
Physics, that ran between 1993 and 2003, and Head of iNano, the Interdisciplinary
Nanoscience Science. He is a fellow of three Danish Academies and member
of the Danish Natural Science Research Council, a body that advises the
government on science policy. Our interview with him is summarized here.
