Abstract
Information is generated, processed, transmitted and stored in various forms: text, voice, image, video and multimedia types. Here all these forms will be treated as general data. As the need for data increases exponentially with the passage of time and the increase of computing power, data storage becomes more and more important. From scientific computing to business transactions, data is the most precious part. How to store the data reliably and efficiently is the essential issue, that is the focus of this chapter.
