Abstract
Rare-earth ions embedded in crystals are promising optically addressable spin qubits. We demonstrate this potential by measuring the optical and spin transition properties of single ¹⁷¹Yb³⁺ ions coupled to nanophotonic resonators fabricated in YVO₄.
