Abstract

The stable isotopic geochemistry of carbonates in SNC meteorites constrains both the characteristics of martian volatile reservoirs and the origin of secondary mineralization in these samples. We here report new ion microprobe measurements of ^(18)O/^(16)O in carbonates and related phases in ALH 84001, supported with major-, minor-, and trace-element data on the same materials.
