Abstract
The conversion of biorenewable resources into chem. will require the efficient removal of excess functionality. The C-O bonds in a variety of highly oxidized biomaterials can be difficult to convert into compds. of lower oxidn. state. While screening a variety of catalysts, new methods for the efficient cleavage of arom. and aliph. C-O linkages have been developed.
