Abstract
This talk focused on personal experiences with Caltech's document delivery system (DDS) and evaluation of journal subscriptions over 40 years, beginning in 1965. The DDS was first based on paper photocopy request forms, transitioning to electronic forms in 1999 and finally to populated forms from Web of Science records. Successful evaluation of journal subscriptions depends on educating faculty about costs, use, etc.
