Abstract

The luminescence decays of Gd_2(SiO_4)O : Ce obtained by exciting two Gd^(3+) absorption lines show a build-up and a long decay component, suggesting that the origin of two slow decay components observed in the gamma-ray excited decay is caused by the energy transfer from Gd to Ce.
