Abstract

Our group is interested in C-H bond activation by late transition metals supported by the anionic bis(phosphino)borate ligand, Ph_2B(CH_2PPh_2)_2 (abbreviated Ph_2BP_2). In this talk, we focus on the reactivity of the complex [(Ph_2BP_2)Pd(THF)_2][0Tf] (1). Compound 1 reacts with tertiary amines via C-H bond activation to generate a three-membered Pd-N-C metallacycle. The scope of this reaction will be discussed, as well as strategies for futher substrate functionalization.
