Abstract

Thin Cl^(37) targets were bombarded with monoenergetic protons, the overall proton energy resolution being about 1.7 keV. A long counter was used to observe neutrons from the Cl^(37)(p, n)A^(37) reaction at energies up to 0.8 MeV above the reaction threshold. The widths and spacings of 91 resonances were measured. A gross structure was discerned, believed to be related to a neutron independent-particle state near the neutron separation energy.
