Abstract

The year 1966 marked the centenary of the publication of Mendel's classic paper, and for this reason there were a series of descriptions and discussions of the remarkable story. As is well known, this paper is basic to all the spectacular developments in Genetics in the present century, but was overlooked until it was found and the results were confirmed in 1900.
