Abstract
The replicative form (RF) of bacteriophage ΦX174 DNA is known to serve as a template for progeny phage DNA and phage specific mRNA. RF has two forms: RF component I (two closed DNA strands) and RF component II (one closed and one open strand). The isolation and purification of RF have been performed by several investigators.
