Cross sections for (α, n) reactions on ^(59)Co, ^(63)Cu, and ^(65)Cu have been measured from thresholds to beyond the (α, 2n) thresholds. In addition, ^(35)Cl(α, n)^(38)K and ^(35)Cl(α, n)^(38m)K cross sections have been measured from threshold to 12 MeV. Predictions of the Hauser-Feshbach model with the α-potential of McFadden and Satchler agree well with the data. This α-potential provides better fits, not only for these four reactions but for sixteen other α-induced reactions measured previously, than do the potentials of Igo or of Michaud and Fowler.
