Abstract

Recent results from the Caltech-Fermilab experiment are presented. This includes information on the neutral current coupling, charged current differential distributions, and the observation of events with two muons in the final state. The prime focus of our group this past year has been to follow up the discovery of neutral currents with a set of measurements especially designed to determined more about the nature of the neutral current interaction. The first experiment of this type was performed in october–november 1974 and I will report here preliminary conclusions from that data. As an exciting side product of this neutral current experiment we have observed neutrino events with two muons in the final state. These events appear to be due to new and as yet unexplained physics! I will describe the observation of these events, their characteristics, and comment on possible physics explanations. We have also studied our ordinary charged current events (υ + N → μ + hadrons), especially with antineutrinos, looking for any possible thresholds or anomalies. I will also describe our present understanding and interpretation of this charged current process.
