Abstract

Dean Mobbs is an assistant professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and a member of the Computation and Neural Systems Program at the Californian Institute of Technology. He received his PhD from University College, London in 2008 and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Medical Research Council’s Cognition and Brain Science Unit, University of Cambridge. He is interested in the intersection of behavioral ecology, economics, emotion, and social psychology. By understanding the neural, computational and behavioral dynamics of human social and emotional experiences, his aims are to develop theoretical models that merge these fields. His awards include the APS Janet Spence Award for Transformative Early Career Contributions and a NARSAD Young Investigator Award. He is a life fellow of Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge. His research is supported by NIMH, the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation and the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Foundation. More details can be found here: www.deanmobbslab.com.
