Abstract

A brief summary of papers presented at the Hamburg Conference on Gravitational Lenses is presented. To date, there are seven “secure” multiply-imaged quasars, four candidate “dark matter” lenses, five radio rings and approximately fifteen clusters that exhibit extended arcs and/or small arclets which are magnified images of more distant galaxies. A convincing time delay has been measured between the two images of Q0957+561 which suggests that the Hubble constant has a small value. Microlensing variability in Q2237+031 is a good probe of both the source and the lensing galaxy. Radio rings provide unique probes of the surface potentials of isolated galaxies. The distribution of arcs and arclets relative to the luminous galaxies is furnishing a similar diagnostic of rich cluster potentials.
