Analysis and design of a synthetic transcriptional network for exact adaptation

Abstract

This paper presents a mathematical model for a synthetic transcriptional regulatory network in vitro. This circuit design resembles one of the well-known network motifs, the incoherent feed-forward loop, in which an activator regulates both a gene and a repressor of the gene. Through mathematical analysis, we show how the circuit can be controlled to demonstrate exact adaptation to input signals.
