Homogeneous nucleation in the presence of an aerosol

Abstract

The explicit dependence of the homogeneous nucleation rate on the surface area concentration of preexisting free molecule particles is obtained by solving the Zeldovich-Frenkel-Becker-Döring equation modified to account for cluster scavenging. The present analytical solution is found to be in full agreement with numerical results.
