RFI Considerations for the DSA-2000

  • 1. ROR icon California Institute of Technology

Abstract

The DSA-2000 is a large astronomical survey in-terferometer currently being designed, and will be composed of 2,000 antennas spanning 700 - 2,000 MHz. The frequency coverage of the instrument makes it particularly vulnerable to Radio Frequency Interference as it overlaps with a high occupancy region of the spectrum. This paper describes the strategies employed to mitigate the effect of interference and ensure the scientific relevance of the telescope.
