Abstract
A review essay of Anthony Grafton and Joanna Weinberg's remarkable 'I Have Always Loved the Holy Tongue'. The essay seeks to pay homage to their exemplary contribution to our understanding of Early Modern Christian Hebraism – and of erudition more generally – by expanding on their pioneering study through reflection on three themes: Casaubon's early Hebrew studies; the motivation and scope of his learning; and his posthumous reputation as a Hebraist.
