Introduction Auxiliary material for this article contains a high-resolution structural map of the study area in southwest Candor Chasma, in the Valles Marineris region of Mars. This map contains all of the fault and bedding orientations analyzed in this study. 1. 2008je003181_suppl_material.pdf Structure map of the study area. Fault and bedding orientations are measured from the HiRISE DTM following the methods of Fueten et al. [2005]. Also shown are traces of identified stratigraphic members. Line color for each member corresponds to the line colors used in the context map (Fig. 2) and profiles (Fig. 7). The predicted location of a chasma-related normal fault from Schultz and Lin [2001] is indicated, although normal faults are not observed in that area. Illumination is from the left.
