The effect of nonparabolic energy bands on tunneling through thin insulating films

Abstract

Previously derived equations for the volt-current characteristic are applied to trapezoidal barriers, keeping the energy momentum relations arbitrary. Techniques for deriving the energy-momentum relation in the forbidden gap of the insulating film are presented.
