Abstract
Partial melting of crustal rocks can generate granitic melts with different characteristics; isotopic systematics can be used to decipher the origin of these magmas. Time-scale for melting and crystallizzation in basalt-induced crustal melting are very short and isotopic disequilibrium between phenocrysts and matrix in silicic magmas and in mafic inclusions can be maintained.
