Abstract
A unique wide band receiver for radio astronomy has been designed, constructed and will be installed on the 500 m Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) in Guizhou, China. The receiver has a frequency range of 270 to 1620 MHz. Astronomical use of the receiver includes observing pulsars, continuum source surveys, galactic hydrogen line and extragalactic hydrogen with high red shift.
