Syntheses of Some 4-Substituted Bicyclo [2.2.2]octane-1-carboxylic Acids

Abstract

A series of 4-substituted bicyclo [2.2.2]octane-1-carboxylic acids and ethyl esters with X = H, Br, -OH, -CO_2C_2H_6, -NH_2 and -C=N has been synthesized from diethyl 2,5-dioxobicyclo[ 2.2.2]octane-1,4-dicarboxylate.
