Rate of population of CO(v) in a CS_2/O_2 flame

Abstract
The rate of vibrational population of carbon monoxide in a steady CS_2/O_2 flame has been determined from CO overtone emission. A steady-state analysis indicates that, for a flame, the fifteenth vibrational level has the largest rate of population.
