Pincer Ir (III) complexes in CH activation and oxidation of mesitylene and methane

Abstract

We present our exptl. and computational studies on pincer (Phebox) Ir^(III)(X)_2(OH_2) (X = OAc or OCOCF_3) , in the context of organometallic methane oxidn. Catalytic H /D exchange, stoichiometric CH activation and subsequent oxidn. of mesitylene and methane were investigated.
