Abstract
A new method for the photorelease of amines, alcs., and ketones using 700 nm light and the photoredox chem. of a common synthetic dye has been developed. The uncaging process occurs under physiol. conditions and is complete within minutes. The synthesis, scope, and applications will be discussed. Efforts to extend the chromophore into the 900 nm range will be presented.
