Femtochemistry of the reaction: IHgI^*→[IHg…I]^(‡*)→HgI+I

Abstract
Femtochemistry of the reaction IHgI^*→[IHg…I]^(‡*)→HgI+I is reported. We observe femtosecond decays with an oscillatory modulation. These observations are related to the reaction trajectories on the global PES, which involve a symmetric stretch, an antisymmetric stretch and a bend.
